Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you visit Every Clue Counts or buy one of our digital casebooks. Please read them before placing an order.

1. About us

Every Clue Counts is operated by Steve Lewis. Questions about these terms or an order can be sent to info@everycluecounts.com.

2. Digital products

Our products are downloadable digital editions, normally supplied as PDF files for use on compatible tablets and devices. No physical book will be posted. Product descriptions, prices and compatibility information are shown on the website before checkout.

You are responsible for checking that your device and chosen PDF reader are compatible before purchasing. Software behaviour can differ between devices, so we recommend testing that your reader saves form entries.

3. Orders and payment

Payments are processed securely by Stripe or PayPal under their own terms and privacy policies. An order is accepted when payment is confirmed and the digital product is made available to you. Prices are displayed in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise.

If a price or product description contains an obvious error, we may cancel the affected order and refund the amount paid.

4. Digital delivery

Access normally begins immediately after successful payment, using the download page or delivery instructions provided by the payment service. Please download and securely save your files. If you do not receive access, contact us with the email address used at checkout and your payment reference.

5. Digital download and refund policy

By ordering a digital download for immediate delivery, you expressly request that supply begins during the statutory cancellation period and acknowledge that your cancellation right is lost once the download or access begins. Consequently, we do not offer refunds for a change of mind after the digital content has been supplied.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights. If digital content is faulty, not as described or cannot be accessed because of a problem on our side, contact us promptly. We will provide a replacement, repair or other remedy required by applicable consumer law.

Duplicate payments and payments taken in error will be investigated and refunded where appropriate.

6. Personal-use licence

Your purchase gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and use the files for your own private enjoyment. Copyright and all other intellectual-property rights remain with Steve Lewis and the relevant rights holders.

You must not:

• share, upload, email or distribute the files to other people;
• resell, sublicense, rent or commercially exploit the files;
• remove copyright notices or claim the work as your own; or
• copy or adapt substantial parts for publication or commercial use.

7. Free case files

Free downloads are also protected by copyright and are supplied for personal use only. Receiving a free case file does not transfer ownership or grant permission to redistribute it.

8. Availability and website use

We work to keep the website and downloads available, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed. We may update, replace or withdraw content where reasonably necessary. You must not misuse the website, interfere with its operation or attempt unauthorised access.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses arising from products supplied for personal use.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy and Cookies Policy explains how personal information and cookies are handled.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to our products, services or legal obligations. The terms displayed when you place an order will apply to that purchase.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live. Any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you remain unaffected.
